Someone, please check it out and let me know how it differentiates from all the other boutiques. Lets decide together whether this should have been a shoe store!!(much needed)

Are they ok even for comfort?
We are talking about some of the things I witness everyday….dansko clogs.
Yes, they are meant for comfort. Yes, you see teachers, nurses, doctors, etc. wearing them regularly. They now come in all leathers, all colors, dressy and casual. However, they are very clunky, lacking style and not for you!
News memo: You can have style and comfort…you may be investing a bit more in your shoes, and you can have both.
Lets put the danskos to rest and try a new style!

Turkey Talk
Something to learn about style around eating holidays!! Buffet pants. Definition–pants with only elastic waistband that expand with consumption of food.
Yes, these pants are needed around turkey day(sometimes on a daily basis). Most often, they are not appropriate attire. How can you have the best of both worlds? Buffet pants and style. Well, forget your grandmothers way or combining buffet pants with a dressy look. Instead, opt for pants with a drawstring that are hip and stylish. Think color, design and style paired with a really great jacket or shirt.
You are sure to look up to date, stylish and have the huge benefit of buffet pants!
Enjoy Turkey Day…

A Saving Grace…
The Alterations Lady
You always have a plan. You have the outfit, the accessories, and the event. Then, you put it on and suddenly, your plan is halted! There is a rip, a tear, a seam missing….you never know until you put it on. In comes your saving grace….the alterations lady. With holiday events coming, I suggest that you find your personal alterations lady and begin your relationship.
They can take out the seam when your thighs grow a little through the holiday season, stitch up a hole in your favorite skirt, take out a zipper so it doesn’t pouch at all the wrong places, and so much more.
Let me tell you from experience, the alterations ladies can make you look like a million bucks in your last season duds.

What is in your coat closet?
Outerwear is a necessity.
Your outerwear speaks volumes about you and is the details of your attire. Details are of the utmost importance. Men and women, you must have a coat that suits all occasions of your life. Coat categories to fill:
Active outerwear–Something to keep you warm during your outdoor, winter activities.
Casual outerwear–A coat you can wear when out and about on the weekends or evenings. (most often with jeans)
Business outerwear–A piece that is appropriate to your line of work, keeps you warm, and enhances your professional look.
Evening outerwear–This coat must make a statement. Usually to the knees or longer, and is the most dressy coat in your closet.

Date Dressing
What do you wear on a date?
It has come to my attention that a lot people do not know what to wear on a date with their significant other/spouse. Whether you have known them for 10 minutes or 10 years, a date is a key opportunity to look you best, in honor of the person you are courting, of course. If the date is important(and all are), you should wear something comfortable; you will be self-conscious and not able to think clearly if you feel confined in your clothes. Do not wear something too trendy….it gives off the wrong message. Go for one, unique detail on your outfit. This gives you the opportunity to see how observant your date is. Whatever you do….do not wear dark, dress shoes with white tube socks…you will kill the mood. Remember to smile and look your date in the eyes–the outfit matters a little less then.

The Invisible Accessory
Arguably, the most important accessory.
This is the most valuable accessory you have! It distinguishes you from others, is unique to you, and draws people near. You must invest in your perfume or cologne. A few sprites and you are a new person!
Rules of perfume/cologne:
1. You must replace & change your scent at least every 2 yrs.
2. It must be unique. Do not invest in something everyone has.
3. Do not saturate yourself. It is a hint of the secret that draws people in.
4.Choose a scent that matches your personality. Nothing is worse than a man with his friend’s cologne.
5. Be daring. The higher the risk, the higher the reward.

When to Show Skin?
To Show Skin?
Everyone wonders…The rules with boots and showing skin in the winter. Can one wear a skirt to the knee and boots to the knee? What do you do with the few inches of skin that are between? No skin on your legs should be seen in the winter(the one excpetion: dressy occasions)! This holds true for everyone. True “winter” skirts fall well below the knee and should show no skin if worn with knee-high boots. If you are trying to re-work a summer skirt, you will need to make adjustments. One option is tights. Not pantyhose, but winter tights. This can be done in different colors, textures, and prints and add nice detail to your outfit. There is a trend this fall/winter of wearing little ankle boots and tights(with skin showing in-between). If you wear this, you better have the skinniest ankles and legs this side of the equator or be on a runway somewhere. This is NOT flattering to the majority of women!

The Miracle of the Shoe Doctor
The miracles of a shoe Dr.
As you pull out your winter shoes and put away your open-toed sandals, don’t forget the power of a shoe doctor. This may be your new best friend. They can make your old, scuffed shoes/boots look brand new. The small fee and visit to the shoe doctor can resurrect the old into the new!
I cannot stress enough the importance of the shoe doctor in your life. They not only polish, but will re-sole your very loved shoes. If you are in Bend, the best one is: No’ D’ Lay Shoe Service on Greenwood. Take all your shoes there, and they will return them looking brand new. For those of you outside of Bend, find your local shoe doctor and ask them for their magic touch on your beloved shoes!
